I broke a St. Croix Legend rod last week on a big carp. I know they used to replace them, but I’ve heard they do not do that any more. Can anyone enlighten me on St. Croix’s policy on replacement of broken rods?

St. Croix Replacement Question

I would call St. Croix directly and talk to them. I’ve heard very positive things from just shipping charges to nothing. I personally had to pay $60.00 for an avid, but that was because I broke the rod on a gunnel cleat.
March 20, 2005 at 2:12 pm #351011John, Its’s my understanding that the Priemer Series has a 2year warranty, and the Avid and Legend Series have a lifetime warranty. I would definitly contact them. I just visited their facilities in Park Falls, Wi. and their very nice people. Good Luck

March 20, 2005 at 2:55 pm #351019If it is an older model legend, they will give you a credit towards an Avid series rod. This is usually close to the price difference between the older Legends ($80-$90) versus the Avid prices ($140 -$160) if it is a newer elite model it is lifetime and should be subjected to the $20 shipping only.
