If I get 2 lowrance gps units, can I move map chips from one unit to the other and only pay one time? This is probably a dumb question, but I thought I would ask.

    Thanks

Yes, you can move the chip from one unit to another. However, only the unit with the chip will have the maps.

If you shopping for mapping chips or electronics then I have to give you some great advice:

Buy from Jolly Ann Marine and Outdoor

It is an absolute pleasure to do business with Wade there. He just helped me with an order today, he is all about service and I believe provides the best value.

I agree, shop around and than check Wade’s price. Compare tax and shipping cost’s and you will be making your purchase from Jolly Ann Marine. Their prices are hard to beat……..

Thanks for the suggestion, but not necessary. I bought an ifinder h20 from them (had to give credit to Mrs. Wade too – she did much of the work) and received great service. Bought it mid-day Friday and received it mid-day Monday (in Massachusetts).

The ifinder was the first step in the program. The next step will be more fun…

I read somewhere don’t try and make a copy of the map chip for your other unit or it will wipe out your original, anyone else heard of this? Also there are probably copyrite issues.

Yes they say that if you try to copy or add anything to the chips that you will lose everything on the original chip that you bought. Its their way of protecting themselves from people doing this.
    Thanks, Bill
