I have a ranger 520. From running into the front trailor roller a few times I see that the roller is leaving its plastic in the form of scuffs on the gelcoat. What will take or break that stuff up. And what should a guy be using to get off lets say dock scuffs where there is actually something on the surface of the gel caot but a guy can’t just rub off. What should I use to buf minor scratches and how to do the actual buffing. Should it be high speed or low. I actually here of people sanding there boat?? How would you get the shine back?

    thanks

I had the same problem and used a 3M product that is a combination light rubbing compound and wax. I looked around for a buffing pad for a high speed drill but couldn’t find one so I ended up using an orbital buffer. It did a nice job but didn’t take the hard stuff. Maybe others have a better plan…

Call Glen Bonnes @ Progressive truck and fiberglass repair. They specilize in boat repair. Tell him I said to call and he may have a good, over the phone solution.
