Mapping Chips

I am looking to purchase a mapping chip for my X-15 and I’m looking for some advice. I understand the new Navionics chips will not work with the X-15, so I’m looking for a recommendation of what to get (i.e old Navionics, C-Map, etc.). I mainly fish the Mississippi River, Mille Lacs, Rainy River/LOW, Leech, Cass and a trip here and there to some northern Minnesota lakes. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the advice,

    Brian

    Wade-

Have you heard anything on the new Navionics chip that will work on an x-15? With the price they are still selling x-15’s for, I can’t beleive they aren’t making chips that are compatible. The Lakemaster seems like it may be the best one for me, but I didn’t see Cass on the lake list. Is that possible? If I could get one of the more detailed Navionic’s chips I would. Do you have a recommendation of the three you listed?

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Brian,

Cass Lake is on the Hotmaps Classic North which will work on the X-15, price $130. I did not see Cass Lake listed on the Lowrance Minnesota Lakemaster chip but it does have it’s own chip at Lakemaster for $69.

I don’t have any more news on the Navionics Lakemaster chip yet, sorry.

What are the contour increments for the HotMaps Classic. Does it have 2 or 3-foot intervals for the more known lakes such as Mille Lacs and Leech.

    Thanks!

No, they tend to be five-foot increments on the Hotmaps Classic.
