I will mention it to them, they had a nice selection of your stuff in there last summer, even a few kits for dark or clear water. Very nice stuff, the store is in transition right now from ice fishing to open water but it looked to me like they were moving that stuff out, I hope not, I like having options and being able to touch what I buy. Even the K-grub stuff with the Kalin name was very very bleak…..

I know Dave just sent out a massive BFT order to Gander wharehouse so I would expect those products to filter back to the stores soon. Trouble is they usually sell out very quickly and the stores that rely on gander corporate to place re-orders go from fully stocked and back to nearly out in a short time and it again takes forever to get in another re-supply. Just another fine example of the inefficiencies of big business.

I have heard the bigger the bait the bigger the fish, but when you are using a 5″ k-grub, how big of a jig are you using? I understand the bigger the jig the faster it sinks, but do you vertical jig it or long line it or does that depend? Thanks for any advice.

It depends on current and depth you are trying to fish. Maybe some to do with what you are trying to do with the bait also. The largest jigs I have fished is 5/8 to 3/4 in the spring time. This was just to get down to the top of the wing dam. This time of year it would most likely just take me a 1/4 or smaller to get to the same spot.

It really just depend on the conditions and what you are trying to do. Also make sure those jigs have large hook gaps for the larger plastics.

You will not need or want to tip the ringworms with anything They do the work by themselves It seems if you do tip them, the action is not the same.

Talked to the guys at Gander in Eau Claire, he said the office in the cities orders the stuff from b fishn tackle and they make one order and thats it for there store, he also said they cant keep the stuff on the shelves it moves out so fast, like I said the b fishn stuff is completely empty now, but he will inform me when there order comes in, to sum it all up Gander is run by a big corporation that cant react to the fast sales of these lures, the store recognizes this stuff sells and wont be eliminating it anytime soon…
