Suzuki-possible water in lower unit

I own an 04 70 horse Suzuki 4 stroke EFI. I went to change the lower unit oil, it came out milky white. I brought the motor to my dealer, they did a compression test and didn’t find any leaks. They put new seals on my outlet plugs. After using the motor several times, I checked the oil again. It’s now a tannish color. I drained the oil into a clean pan. I only got about 14oz out-it holds 32oz. I put the oil in my freezer-it didn’t freeze. I noticed some very small flakes in the pan, which I assume is metal. How much of this is normal wear? I’m thinking that one of my original outlet seals was leaking. The reason my oil is now tan might be because of mixing of remnents of the old water tainted oil. Perhaps my dealer underfilled when adding new oil, or do I have a problem? What do you all think? What should I do?

Air bubbles trapped in the oil can also cause it to look milky.

I have to assume it wasn’t too long ago that you took it to your dealer.

That’s a lot of lube to lose with out spots on the floor or a trail on the motor. My first thought would be to assume the problems fix and the dealer didn’t put enough lube in there….But my second thought over rides the first….Assume that it’s leaking until you are positive that it’s fixed. Fill it yourself with a know amount of lube.

That lower unit oil drains very slowly. As you know I have the same motor and I have to tilt the motor to several different positions to get most of lower unit oil to drain. I usually let it drain for at least a hour. If it is cold out, then it drains even slower. I doubt you have a leak as you would typically have oil dripping out somewhere.
