I’m trying to tweak a few things in my boat and finding out nothing is cheap anymore. I want to get an adjustable pedestal for the driver seat and one for the bow with a seat. I’ve called several places, including crestliner. Anyone care to guess what two adjustable pedestals for that boat will run ya? One store was just over $530.00, before shipping and tax. Crestliner suggest using a fixed pedestal up front. I can get it in two options, 27″ and 39″. I’m 6’1″, so I’m leaning towards the 39. Comments from anyone running a butt seat up front, what size would you suggest?

I think my second option is to replace the bases with a brand such as Springfield or Swiveleze. It’s much cheaper to replace the bases and buy new pedestals for the two seats.

I’m open to suggestions if anyone has an easier way of doing this. As I sit right now, I’m looking at $300.00 to get a fixed mount up front and an adjustable at the drivers seat. If I replace the bases, I’m looking at $250.00.

    These darn boats are expensive…

I’m running a 1850 Fishhawk and like the front butt seat other than there is’nt enough padding in it. My Butt gets sore, but I’m more or less sitting on it rather than leaning on it. I’m 6’4″ and I beleive I have the 39″er.

I have a 1750 Fishhawk and replaced the front base with a Swiveleze and purchased the ajustable pedestals and Butt seat from Cabela’s to match. Works for me and you will save allot of cash just switching bases.

Fowler, I figured you’ve been around long enough to know the definition of a boat “a hole in the water that money disappears into”

Somebody used to have that saying in their signature. Don’t get me wrong, I’d wrather spend money on my boat than anything else in the world(don’t tell the wife). It’s just when you feel like you are getting bent over that pains me. I’ve decided to change out the bases and buy swiveleze product from Gander or Fleet. Sounds like a good January project. I’ll just have to get by for the rest of the fall.
