I have a 2001 Spartan Trailer under my 2001 Alumacraft powered by a 2001 Merc 4 stroke. I liked my Spartan over all the other Shorelanders that I have owned because it has extra rollers in the back that make it very easy to load and unload. However, the trailer was towed in and chewed up tires. My first set lasted 4 and 1/2 seasons. I bought 8 ply bias tires and they lasted from May to October 27th. I found out from Nate at S&M Marine that Custom Truck in Rochester, behind Fleet Farm, could allign the tailer. I had that done and it cost $73.00. That is a lot cheaper than a new trailer! Also, I went back to radial tires and checked on Good Year Marathon Tires. I found that they make a real good boat trailer tire but their tires for 5th wheels and etc. are not good. I will let you know what happens with this allignment and new tires. I am sure that someone out there would like to know that you can have boat trailers alligned if they have leaf springs. Do any trailers for boats have other type springs?
