    SteveO,

I had one of my Cabelas DepthMaster rods break a week ago. Called 1-800-237-4444 and they are sending a new rod. That’s their customer service line. Shouldn’t have any problems. Good luck!

SteveO, It may be that you’ll have to call the manufacturer to get it replaced since it’s not a “Cabelas” product, but a Loomis. They should be able to tell you what you need to do when you call.

$40.00 and you get a replacement from an authorized dealer. The days of lifetime warranty from them is pretty much over unless it is an obvious factory defect.

Here is the loomis phone # 800-456-6647. You will have 2 choices – #1 send in your rod to be evaluated and fixed all shippng and repair cost are yours. #2 you call give them a credit card # and they send you the same rod and you put yours in the same container and send it back. $50.00 is the total cost. I personaly will never buy another loomis, I have 3 IMX rods ($255 – $310 a rod). When I bought them at Cabelas 2 years ago I was told anything that happens to these all you do is bring it in we give you a new one no questions asked. Not that way any more. Call them let me know how they handle you situation. I have now sold them and bought Cabelas XML rods. Loomis has lost a lot of customers. Soory for your luck.

You should be upset with Cabela’s not Loomis, since they have had the same policy for well over two years. Cabela’s gave you bad information apparently.

I agree, they said loomis made the decision. Cabelas will here all the complaints anyway. Loomis was very cold about listening to any complaints, they did not care said this is the way it is! So I have a choice not to promote poor desicions and buy there products. The moon is for G-LOOMIS.

I really didn’t like the rod. Guess I’m too in love with St Croix’s but I thought I would try one.
thanks for the info. Is there any certified dealers in the Twin Cities area?

Yeah SteveO….. It’s hard to fish a legend elite and drop all the way down to a GL2. Tell you what…… if you’re not happy with the rod, re-tip it yourself and sell it on ebay, then use the $$$ toward a Shimano. The CS from them is much better than Loomis and I’ve been hearing steller reports regarding “unconditional” warranty service.

Unless of course……. you want another Croix!

Good idea. I may just re-tip and make it my “brother-in-law” pole.
