Hearing Enhancers – Are they any good?

Looking for some advice. I’m thinking about purchasing one of those hearing enhancers like the Walker’s Game Ear, Woodland Whisper, or something equivalent. I plan to use it for bow hunting.

Has anyone ever used one before? Do they work? If so, which is the best — the in-ear style or muff style? Anything I should avoid?

    Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Dave, I’ve tried telling you before that deer don’t talk no matter how hard you listen.

So Steve how long have you had these conversations with deer? Do they ever tell you anything interesting. Personally, I usually figure I’ve had too many beers when the animals start talking.

I have been having conversations with deer for years, a Grunt to a buck to say hey come on over here, a fawn Bleat to a doe to call here in. Sometimes it works and they come in to check it out as if to say where are you, other times they start Snorting and stomping at me and say see ya later

I have the dillon version of the ear muffs … don’t know bout the others, but very pleased with mine …. the game ear may have an advantage in that, the muffs, sometimes, are in the way in certain positions, with certain long arms.

I have the Walker’s Game Ear and they work very well. I am legally deaf in my left ear and partial loss in my right. When somebody says “Deaf in one ear, and can’t hear out of the other”, that is me . I use it strictly for bowhunting and it helps a bunch. I use to have the ear muff type and they drove me nuts, plus they get in the way when you anchor. The muffs had a lot of “white” background noise and they were too intense. The Walker’s are comfortable, no background noise, and are adjustable. I got mine in the bargain cave at Cabela’s for half price. If you have a hearing impairment, go for it, they will help
