82 merc bogging at full throttle

    Am having trouble with my 82 Mercury o/b. It will run fine at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle but when pushed to full throttle it bogs and quits as if it is flooding. Anyone have any ideas?

    Check filter…may be not getting enough gas.

    Thanks, I’ll try that. I should add that it revs up and down fine out of gear, but once in gear it bogs when pushed to full throttle. Also, the carbs were just recently rebuilt. Anything else to check if not the filter? Plugs maybe, or fuel pump? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    You wont get nearly the RPM’s just revving out of gear as you do at full throttle. Since carbs were just rebuilt, I would check filter and also follow fuel line to make sure it is not pinched or damaged. Dont overlook the fuel tank and hose either.

    One more suggestion……beat it with a hammer a few times
