Ive been looking for some light weight rain gear and I ran across the Frogg Toggs. Has anyone used these yet and are they durable? They almost seem like the 3M paper nuke suits. If any other suggestions I would appreciate it too!

Didnt take much to convince me. I found a great price with free shipping at US1outdoors.com, would prefer keeping business local but our Gander is out and isnt going to reorder yet!

I bought a suit at Cabela’s tent sale a year ago and carry them in the boat and have used them several times. They are very lightweight, easy to pack and put on and dry. However I question if they would hold up to frequent use or much abuse but as a rainsuit for the boat or other “emergency” use they’re perfect.

Toggs are definitely the way to go. I haven’t seen any reason to believe they’re real tough but I’m in a boat……. how tough do they need to be? I finally got forced to use my set this year and once used, they got used a lot! As long as I’m not putting hooks in them or wrestling with fish or co-anglers on the floor of the boat, they should last a while.

I think they are a excellent light weight rain suit.Easy to store and they work great.I always have a set in the boat for myself or others that might need them.

Well, there’s always one of us in the crowd! I absolutely hated my set. Worst $80 I’ve ever spent on fishing without a doubt. My set had a bad case of the “come aparts” and was the least durable and dry set of raingear I’ve ever owned. I’m glad to hear that lots of people like them, but I didn’t.

I am fortunate to have two family members as main buyers for a large retail/catalog sporting goods business (www.dickssportinggoods.com)They both gave me some pluses and minuses of the Frogg Toggs. Very lightweight and portable, good for light rains but if it is a heavy rain or involves sitting in water that they do eventually give way to leaking. As I am looking for the light weight and portability I have added a set to my boat already. Just some info to keep in mind.

Some of the Pro Staff were given sets a few years ago. I was among the biggest skeptics! I called them “Bandaid Wear”, etc. But I’ll tell you what! I brought that set to Alaska because they were easy to pack, and all I wanted was something to keep the sea spray off, and the fish slime to a minimum. These things were awesome! I put these things through the ringer, and they have held up! I was amazed! Plus, when we got back in to shore, I was the dryest guy on the boat! I had so much room to move under them, it was fantastic!
    My vote: Awesome!
