Ok I have got a question. I have a Lowrance LMS 240 on my boat. I often hear people talk about GPS speed. I know that it is more accurate than the regular boat speedometer, but how do I get or know that I’m reading GPS speed off of my LMS 240 . I know this unit came with speed and a temp. So how do I tell if the reading I get of my LMS is a GPS speed or not? How do I get GPS off of this set up??? Would appreciate any help. This has been bugging me for quite some time!

When on the GPS screen, push your “pages” button. This will show some screens with data. Look for the sceen that shows SOG which means speed on ground. You can also set up a screen that will show the data along with the map.

I do have this unit. Once you turn it on push the “Page” button. Four options will appear of which I can only remember 3 of. Not in order, it is navigation(GPS), sonar (graph), map, and ???. Highlite the option you desire using the left and right arrows and press enter. A nice feature I use is having the screen split between sonar and navigation. To do this once you highlite the navigation use the up and down arrows to highlite the sonar/navigation.

Also, you can go to the lowrance website to find this information.

    LR,

On my eagle lms 320…same as lowrance, You go to the page that says digital data, or digital information (something like that) It will give you a compass heading some other navigational data, and your true ground speed, which is gps speed as you call it.

It may have the option of it being part of the digital readout on your graph along with depth, temp etc.

    My 18 has this option.
