Anyone else having issues with the new I Pilot Minnkota Terrova spot lock feature. I do know if a few others that have experienced this. Motor is slow to respond and doesn’t hold position. Mine had me all over the place including the rocks! I had the first verion of the I pilot and it held position much better. Any known fix to this issue?

I’ve heard of this before from a couple peoples Terrova’s. Their fix was to just reset the trolling motor. Pull it, relock it in, then put it back down. I think it may reset the GPS.

    Maybe give that a try?

You also have to beware of overcast days when your gps doesn’t get as good of a signal. If is cloudy and gps is only accurate to 20 feet and spot lock has a radius of 5 ft. you could be off by 25 feet before it recognizes that you’ve drifted to far.

The guy next to me with the Motorguide didn’t move 3 feet all day!

I hear the new MotorGuide are the Cats Pajama’s! Also hear their Spot Lock is much better than my Terrova but proof is in the pudding!

I never realized that clouds effect the GPS signal. I guess that the signal being disrupted by the satellites and can be off by more than 100 feet has nothing to do with it.
