Trying to configure the new rig, and want to utilize more of the bow. Figure its full of foam and don’t want to compromise that, but a couple storage compartments in the face of the front deck for some planos would be nice. Can find the doors, but what about the insides, do they sell the inserts to fit 4-5 boxes or does a guy just have to custom make them?
And since I don’t support net terrorists pls don’t mention the big C store 
That whole front could be used as storage.Most will have foam under the floor but not up front.
Overtons,West Marine ect.. sell inserts and are pretty straight forward installation.
You can customize it as much as you want. I spent 30 hours working on my boat this weekend. You can’t fit more storage into a 16′ boat, but that kind of modification comes with a LOT of work and a pretty darn good chunk of money.
The only reason i had to do that work, was to replace all the nuts/bolts with 1/4-20’s and lock nuts. The #10’s that i used the first go around two years ago just wasn’t enough for the rough rides i put it through.
I’ll have to go check what those stores carry. That’s awesome the whole bow can be utilized. Didn’t really know what to find up there. Figured some netting along the front with LEDs would be good as well. Got a few machinists in the FAM who are configuring some type of rod storage to sit above the storage area on the port side, there is absolutely none right now, locker is only 6′. 
These are what I added a couple of years ago. Found them at Cabela’s but others had them also. Works Great!

You may want to examine that vertical panel real close before cutting into it. Depending on the boat, that vertical panel may be more than it appears. It may also provide structural support by tying the sides of the boat together at that point.
If you do cut some openings, the panel will be stronger if you center the openings, leaving as much of the original panel above and below the new opening. Cutting a new opening all the way to one edge will weaken the panel greatly.
Good reminder. If I can do what I want with the deck I might just open up the whole floor underneath, reinforce the seat and sides, but gives room for bags, small coolers etc. Will have to see upon further inspection.
Those plano lockers pictured are exactly what I’m going for, man those look nice. Hopefully they got some with 3-5 or however big I can fit, that would be ideal.

Thats probably what I’ll end up doing. Thinking about it I just want to eliminate bags, so having 2 compartments in the vertical face of the front deck holding a few planos each should do the trick.
Holy moly I should check prices first. Cheapest ones I found with 2 planos was off eBay for $89. Looks as I’ll be going homemade. Nicer ones were $150 as pictured earlier, ell, if I had an extra $600 for compartments I would’ve bought a 16′!

Its not 15 more but here is where I store a few more. LOL
Ok, now there’s something i might be interested in. Did you make or buy that box?
