I am getting the kids rods ready for fishing. I only concerned about the panfish rids at the moment. They use spin casters for this application. They do end up hooking in to the frequently LM bass and snot rocket.. What do you recommend. I was going to go with 6-lb Trilene XT, but I am concerned about the line memory. What do you guys use?

I have not used a spin caster in years but I do remember have memory issue with those type of reels more than spinning reels.

I would think you would be better with the trilene XL vs XT as it should have less memory.

I currently have Seige , Trilene and Maxima on my spinning reels and like them all but if I was picking the best it would be Maxima.

I’ve found sufix to be the limpest mono I’ve used.

I wonder how well that Reel Magic works, buying a big cheap spool of zebco omniflex, then spraying it would offset the costs of better line, then you have a can of the stuff for yourself. Just a thought.

6# trilene xl, xt, sufix elite, sufix siege, or original stren. They are all good for fishing panfish.

I personally like the elite, and then xl as a backup.

I put 4 lb xl on my kids panfish spincast set ups. works fine. haven’t really experimented though. never really felt the need.

they caught a billion perch and a few walleyes on winni last summer and no breaks. local panfish aren’t an issue either.

XL if using Trilene XT is to stiff for a spincast

I’ve had great success with cajun cast red.
