    Got my SS prop repaired
Ran it today for the first time after repair and noticed that I gained 200 rpm and lost 1 to 1.5 mph
But I did notice that it ran a lot smoother…like its been balanced.

Is it normal to have some of these changes after a repair ?

Props will hardly ever run the sameafter getting them fixed. you can buy two identical out of the box props and they will not run the same

True, if the prop guy is just doing a generic repair OR if the stock prop had issues to begin with. A good prop guy can duplicate original tolerances to almost unbelievable specs. Now, there is a point where they can no longer repair the original steel and will need to cut the rakes off and start over.

If your prop guy tweeked all the rakes to make them uniform, you have a great base line to work off of. He should be able to make a few changes to the the cupping, edge drag,… to increase performance. They guy i use down here is superior for doing this and has consistently got me the peak performance out of my props for me

Just thought I would share what has happend with my prop.

I contacted the repair shop and he said I could send it back in and he would look at it…..so I did.

Just got a email from him and he said it shipped out Friday and that some of the cup got removed on the first repair. Wanted me to let him know how it performs.

Also sent a $50.00 gift certificate for my next repair.

Cant beat that….as long as it performs that way its supposed to.

I am dealing with Jay at Soderbloom’s.
This is the second time dealing with them and they seem to be real nice to deal with.
