I have had my ranger for 14 years and always did the bearings myself.I needed brake work done( new calipers, pads and a actuator)and told them to put in new bearings and seals while they had it apart. This is a major trailer place by Edgerton WIS.I looked the trailer over when I picked it up but, after I made it home I noticed that the oil in the windows of the hub were only half full.I always filled them full as per Ranger instructions and never had a problem in thousands of miles of trailering it.Do you think I should have them fill them all the way or, are they fine.I think I know the answer but, would like your opinion on it.

I keep mine with a 1/4 inch of the top window showing so its easy to check the level always and not guessing if its completely full or empty.

Called them and they said they always fill them half way with usb seals but that they would send there tech over and fill them all the way to give me peace of mind as I told them thats what Ranger recommends.

When I had oil bath hubs, I always filled them 3/4 full per manufaturer’s instructions. My current trailer has Vault hybrid oil maintenance free hubs, which are a sealed system and don’t require oil changes.
