So the water pump post got me thinking and so as not to hijack that post, I thought I would ask in a new thread.

So for those or you who do your own Yamaha outboard maintenance, where do you like to get your parts, repair kits, and other products? Are you buying from a local dealer or ordering on-line?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I picked mine up at a local dealer last year. I believe it was $38 for my 40hp.

I use MarineEngine.com for a lot of parts. Mainly because I like their parts lookup and diagrams. Price-wise they seem right on par with what others sites charge and cheaper than going through a dealership.

eBay is also great for parts if you know the part number. It doesn’t apply for a water pump where obviously you want new, but it’s amazing how many used parts I’ve found to replace things that have broken. Or parts that would cost an arm/leg if you could even get the OEM part. There’s a guy on eBay that does reproduction graphics stickers for the cowlings, for example.
