I have been seeing a lot of fisherman on tv wearing these things…Buffs….I think their called. Any body here wearing them ? I’m sure they provide good protection but they look a little goovey to me.

Goofy at first but it beats smearing sun screen on your ears and neck constantly. Try one out, in twenty years your skin and dermatologist will thank you.

yes, up here in the North Country, they are somewhat of an “oddity”, but… they work, no sunburned ears, chin, nose for the last two years. during summer ( ha,ha)when they can be a bit warm, but a quick dunk in the water in your cooler and good to go. i also have the sun gloves, which also work. skin cancer is not a good thing – believe me.

Yes, started a couple years ago to avoid heavy sunscreen while fishing bass tourneys.

Gets a bit warm if there is no breeze, but then again in Spring and Fall, keeps your face warm.

Watched the results of Skin Cancer on my Dad and really don’t want to go thru that. a bit of discomfort is well worth avoiding Cancer Treatments.

X2. Don’t need all those scars later in life. They seem goofy at first but with time you don’t even think twice about it. Well worth it.

nhamm, I know what your talking about. Two scars on my right elbow. This year besides sun screen, something to cover my neck, the back of my hands, long sleeve Guide Wear shirts or their long sleeve light weight t-shirts. No more scars for me. Six month check up on Monday, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I like to put mine in ice water on hot days. it really helps keep you cool.

I been using them for years. I feel like I’m the only guy in the Midwest. They are great. Cost around 25 bucks. Many ways to wear. Keep warm in winter and cool in summer. Never fish without mine.

Aren’t they like a scarf you just wrap around? Do they stay in place or are they always slipping down? Do they make them like a ski mask, pull it over your head and pull it down?

Brian, it is actually a tube, can be worn many different ways, depending on how much coverage you want – just neck, up over chin, or up over the back of your head and under your cap/hat.

Only negative I’ve found with them is when you where them in winter and they fog up your glasses from your breath. Other than that I’ve never complained once.
