Baitcaster With Flipping Switch Recommendation

I’m looking for suggestions for a baitcaster that has a flipping switch. I purchased a couple of Quantum Accurists last year and one of them is not working very well. The spool doesn’t disengage and engage smoothly when in flipping mode. I’ve got a couple of older Accurists and they seem to work fine.

I don’t believe Shimano makes a low profile baitcaster that has a flipping switch. I really like the flipping switch. When trolling or rigging and moving into deeper water, it’s easy to just hit the thumb bar to let more line out, especially you’ve got one hand on the tiller. I wish more reels had the feature.

    Thanks,

I just bought the right handed version of this reel from a guy in Japan. If I remember right I believe I paid $70 for it and the guy had it in my hands in 2 weeks. If you would like I could try to find the guys username on ebay he was by far the cheapest. Send me a PM if you would like some info. Good Luck with your search.

Shimano does have reels /w a flipping switch. The Castaic and the core 100mgfv. this is the only core /w it. the 50 and 100mg7 dont have it. the cores isn’t like the accurists but it’s the same concept.

Did you send the accurist back to quantum? What did their customer service say? I have a pair that I still use for blades and jigs on Lake mi for browns/lakers. They’ve held up great to the abuse I have put them through. If they are not performing correctly, I would start with quantum before needing to buy new reels

Thanks Randy. I can’t find my receipt but I’ll send it in anyway. My older Accurists have taken a lot of hard use and still are working fine.
