Mounting Minnkota Quick Release bracket questions

Guys. I picked up a MKA-21 Quick Release bracket to mount a Powerdrive V2 to my boat. To get it installed so the shaft doesn’t hit against the side of the boat I will have to extend the trolling motor out so that it catches the edge of my boat (Crestliner 16 foot tiller). Doing so means it the bracket/motor will be at a slight upward angle cuz the lip of my boat is a bit higher than the spot where the mounting bracket/puck is screwed into the boat. The instuctions say you can shim underneath the bracket (the smaller ‘puck’). Any tips from guys who’ve done this? Do you just use some washers to increase the height a bit? (By that I mean the height of the smaller black puck). Or do you rig a different sort of shim of some sort. Thanks guys.

Looks like they discontinued it. But a good option. I’ll plan on using washers and see how that works.

This is exactly what I used on a previous rig. Plus takes away some vibration…

I for one kinda “enjoy” that little tingle while sitting in the bow seat.
