Curious what guys with long history of tandem axel trailers do with regards to rotating tires. Do you rotate them? If so, only swap them on the same side or do you rotate them across to the other side? All my previous trailers have been single axle. I probably tow somewhere around 3 to 4k miles a year.

    Suggestions?

Do you rotate your vehicle tires? Keep a eye on the wear pattern. For longer life always rotate your tires. At the same time you will be breaking the lug nuts so they will loosen on the highway / freeway if need be.(in case of a flat)

    My opinion.

Same rotational pattern as you rotate your vehicle tires.

my ranger tandem axle wears the rear tires much faster….. so yes i do the criss cross rotation twice a year which will prolong replacing them significantly

I rotate front to back same side so rotation stays the same, on all tandem trailers it will pivot on one axle and the other will slide on turns this is where the some of the difference in wear happens.
