I’m wondering if anyone out there has tied an Lowrance LCX unit into the same network that they’re running HDS units on.

    Networking them together basically.

Surely someones tried to do this already.

Just curious as to whether or not its possible or not.

    Yes, I had 2 HDS 5s and a LMS 520c works fine.

You should have no problems. They are all just pieces of electronics sharing the same network backbone. I had my LCX unit on the same network as my HDS5 and HDS7 on my Alumacraft.

    I run 2 HDS 10’s networked with a LCX 38.
It shares waypoints, they all runn of either the LGC 4000 or Point 1, I use 1 sonar device 83/200 thru hull transducer on all 3 (obviously down and side imaging only on HDS units)
I get broadband sonar on LCX 38 from HDS unit.
Love the set up. I always liked my LCX 38 and it works great with the HDS units.

To those of you who have successfully linked the HDS & LCX units together, are you linking them via ethernet or NMEA network? (or both?)

will i still need to run a lake master chip in each unit still or does it share that info also?

HDS units will share a single map chip through ethernet. Not sure on the other units.

to share chip info you need a HDS GEN 2 or touch unit, they won’t share info to older units

Thanks for the correction. Forgot to type the gen 2 part.
