snaps/swivels on stick baits

Ok, so for the last few years I’ve been direct tying my stickbaits (mostly husky jerks, max raps, scatter raps, etc) directly onto my floro leader (main line suffix 832), so I don’t mess up the balance or anything like that of the lure. It doesn’t bother me, but my wife and my mother both found it annoying when we wet on our up north trip last spring. So, since its almost new years I’ve started going through stuff and tweaking my list of what we should take (last year was the first time I went up with the ‘ladies’). Does anyone know of/recommend any kind of snap or swivel or similar that I could add at the end of the leader to make it easier to change out baits? It annoys them and it ties me up in the boat since I have to do the tying so if there is a product that could be used so they can switch out easily and not affect the lure performance I’d take any suggestions (this is for casting/jerking not trolling, those rods already have swivels).

    Thanks guys

    try these: cross lock snaps

    ^^ what he said.

Not only do they make it easier to change lures, but they improve the action of your lure by allowing more freedom for movement versus tying directly.

Use the Berkley ones, if you happen to hook into a tank, these won’t straighten out. All I use, never had one fail.

I prefer the ones Dan had suggested a # 3 snap

Snaps or tie the old rapala knot with the loop, allows the lure to really perform its full action. – QB

These are the ones I use. The only problem is they are hard to get on some crankbaits if the line tie is small or if its wedged inbetween the body of the bait and the bill. For stick baits they should be fine because the line tie is generally right on the nose of the bait.
