Looking at getting pa a set of the toadz rain gear. Like the price and seem nice. I have the more expensive guide series H20 but don’t want to spend 200 on rain gear that will get worn 3 times a year for him but want good gear instead of the pvc junk.

I’m not sure the model of Toggs that I have, but I will never buy a pair again. I don’t have the really cheap version either. I have gotten soaked a couple of times in them while fishing in some pretty light rain. The zipper on the jacket leaks like crazy. If any part of the jacket or bibs is touching your body moisture will leach through at this point. I don’t get soaked at these locations, but it definitely is uncomfortable when colder out.

I have been on the lookout for a better brand to go on sale and I will be upgrading my set then. Maybe others have had better luck, but I would recommend springing for the better quality brand and be happy with them for a long time.

X2. I have the Toadskin stuff and it’s not very good. I got a very wet on Pool 2 last fall. I did clean it all up with Nikwax breathable fabric cleaner and then sprayed it down with Revive-X which seemed to help, but I wouldn’t trust the stuff again. It’s going to get stashed in the boat as the emergency backup rain gear.

X3 Mine leaked in the pants and the jacket zipper. I bumped against the dock railing and it put a 2 inch cut in the material. I called the company and they said they would send a pick up tag. Still waiting.

I’ve had 3 different sets of Frogg Togg’s JUNK!! All 3 times they worked well for me, to get soaking wet!! The first set TOTALLY failed right out of the pkg., the first time I used it. Way to start off an early season walleye tourn., getting soaked to the bone. Called FT’s and got a free replacement. This happened 2 more times. The third(second replacement) set was JUST over a year old and they told me, they couldn’t/wouldn’t replace them. Because they were over a year old. They have a 1 yr. guarantee. But, they did tell me they’d give me a big discount on buying another set! YAH, I’LL JUMP at that deal alright!!! So, after arguing with them and ending up telling them what I thought of a company that won’t stand completely behind their product(s), even with being JUST over the 1 yr. old stage. I hung up, because we weren’t getting anywhere. If they were the last/only type of rain gear to use, I’d be using good ole trash bags!!!! I can throw those in the trash, just like I did with the FT’s garbage!!!!!!
