I found a phase kit from hydro tech which would add 20hp to my current motor. I have exchanged a few emails this morning with hydro tech with some questions and concerns. Has anyone ever used any hydro tech products or any other performance parts?
I have been looking to upgrade to a 60/40 objet. The merc seems to be the best performing 60/40 but at 270lbs vs my 40/28 at 157lbs I don’t think the 12 HP at the pump would make enough of a difference to make it worth the expense.
I used to be a gear head at a local marina. You should be carefull with the warranty issues on your motor. I would start there then go to the add ons. You can change your prop and the pitch to get you a bit more speed, but you can look for a prop with the speed pitch or the power pitch. Good luck with your project, be safe out there.
It is well past Warranty being a 97 and being a out board jet the only difference for impeller is aluminum, stainless 4 blade , and stainless 3 blade which I am currently running. I switched to the 3 blade stainless which on the smaller obj doesn’t make a difference performance wise but greatly improves service life.
