I recently purchased the gold edition of the Navionics Hot Maps and was very pleased with it the first couple weeks but just recently after a long day fishing in the rain….it stopped working. What happens most of the time is the chip is not being recognized and will not display the information and I have to wait several minutes with the power off and then turn it back on to get it working…for a few more minutes before repeating. Any ideas??

What kind of locator are we talking about here Dustin?

It sounds like you’re saying moisture is getting in the way of your card? Is that correct.

What unit are you running? I would call the manufacturer. I would also call Navionics to see what they might suggest. Navionics # is 1-800-848-5896. Their staff can be very helpful. I’d be a little worried that you are getting moisture in the unit but something tells me that should not be an ongoing problem unless it damaged the data card. Is it at all possible that you did not get the door sealed during that rain? To me it seems like it’d be pretty tough to get water into the unit during a rain but I guess anything is possible. Make those calls and can you let us know what you find out please.
