Anybody got a review on this reel? Got a finesse rod to reel up in the future and like the fact of how light these are. Quantum energy pti 20. Plus may get a deal on it which influences my choice a bit.

I have one on one of my Loomis walleye series rods.
It’s been a very solid reeel.
Once I started fishing more with the Shamano Sustains, I haven’t used it as much but still a good solid working (and cool looking reel)

I also managed a very good deal on my few years back

    Just my $.02

MOST all the reviews I read were 4.5-5 out of 5 stars, tho it seems a little heavy to me for a finesse rod weighing in at a 9.6 oz..

It all depends on the user and how it actually feels on the rod you have.If it feels good on your rod and you like it buy it especially if you can get a deal on it.

I was trying to find the weight as well, seems there are an A and B series, plus this would be an older style. Held it on store and know it couldn’t have weighed more than 7.5oz. May have to call for exact, but know it was lighter than the President, and sedona reels comparably.

Favorite reel all time…. but have had it in to have bail mechanism repaired twice now and it took FOREVER to get parts (4 months).

I have a couple of them and they are good reels. I like my stradics more though, and gave them to my son.

I had a couple when they first came and and absolutely loved them- until the gears crapped out and the smoothness went away. The cost of repair was almost the cost of the new ones at the time so I let them go.

I was using them 3-4 days a week, so I got a lot of use from them for sure.

If I could get a good deal I would definitely purchase them again.

Nick ,Now that I am at home and look at the site I got my info from I do see the article was from back in 2003.

I could not find any current data on a size 20 reel,so maybe the new ones are lighter than the weight I previously posted, if in fact they still make the reel in a 20 size.

Now that I am home as well, I tried to look up some stuff. Anyone just have an off day, good grief today I am scatterbrained and not in a good way

I believe its the Energy E05PTiB, yes numbers way off, but its an ultralight reel, and I called the store and box says 6.9oz. After these reviews some of the mechanical issues scare me a bit, so will wait to get the rod first, then if the reel is still around might see how it balances out. It is a smaller reel, but with the ceramic drag, and other nice features it might be a perfect fit for finessing. Haven’t got a rod yet so I may not want to put the cart in front of the horse. Thanks guys as always!!
