I just got a Work Sharp belt knife sharpener yesterday. They are on sale at Northern. I read good reviews and they appear to be right on. I quickly and easily sharpened every hunting and pocket knife I had. Fillet knifes have never been sharper. Even fixed an old pair of scissors. Anyone else use one of these?

They are the cats meow. Just be careful on those fillet knifes, they like to round them a little right on the end.

Heard nothing but good things but sure nice to hear straight from others.
What was the sale price Mike?

    Thanks

Just used it last night to sharpen my hunting knives for this weekend.

Had it for a year or so now. Bought a brand new 6″ buck knife at the same time as i did the work sharp to replace my older one. Knives are pretty sharp out of the package…Few trips over the work sharp and it’s way sharper than out of the box. Old knife was soon as sharp as the new one.. I’ve never been good enough to get that good of an edge on a blade with any other method.

I’ll be bringing it with this weekend for my deer hunting group to sharpen their knives…Might help them butcher a deer faster I lop off the front legs and give one to each guy, i’m usually waiting for them to finish deboning the front quarters by the time i’ve got the entire rest of the deer in plastic baggies.

I have the WSKTS. Of course now that I have all this interest I look on their website and see the Ken Onion model. Sweet!

    Thanks.

What other items should a guy get? Replacement belts? Looks like there are about 20 different items that come up on Amazon when I searched WSKTS.

FYI: There’s 50 places on Amazon offering this sharpener for $69.95, including Northern Tool. Free shipping and no tax.

I can’t wait to get one. Thanks Suzuki

The kit I bought at Northern came with all 2 of their attachments and extra belts. I also bought a box of extra belts so I should be set for years. Looks like the med grit is the one mostly used.

When ever I use mine to sharpen the knives in the kitchen, I put a sticky note on the knife block, “Sharp”. One trip to the ER with my daughter is enough. Also use the green belt to sharpen the lawn mower blade and other lawn equipment. Won’t be without mine!!

Excellent suggestion! I never thought of that. Since this unit pivots to use as a belt sander that would be perfect. No more hand filing for me!

Man does that thing make for a sharp knife. Darn near took my knuckle off saturday butchering a cow. Right down to the bone.

Gotta love a sharp knife, but dang you gotta be careful!

I finally hit a knife I couldn’t sharpen. I think it was too thick. But you are right. All my filet knives are deadly.
Thinking of getting the Ken Onion model for home and taking the other to the cabin. Great gifts too. I got one for my brother.

I’m pretty that’s the one Suzuki has. I picked one up on his suggestion and am impressed.

Yep. They should still have them at Northern for $69.I pulled out several heavier hunting knives last night with the same result. Sharper than ever. I’m looking forward to using it on my mower blades next summer instead of hand filing them like I have always done.

Anyone know the difference between Fleet Farm’s black WSKTS for $69 and Cabela’s green WSKTS-CB for $89? I don’t mean the $20

I just use a dual stone (ceramic and arkansas). Took me 3 tries to get it down, and now I can take about any knife and have it able to cleanly shave your arm in about 5 minutes. Never seen that belt one.
