Rattle Snakie jigging spoons

Seems these are not as easy to find as they used to be. Anyone know of a supply of these anywhere? I’d be looking for 3/4 oz specifically. Not sure if they make 1oz, but I’d be interested in those as well. These are jigging spoons, or ‘slabs’, similar to one eyes, used for walleye fishing. Cabela’s used to sell em, but no more. Thanks for any info in advance–

Do-It molds in Iowa sells a mold close to what the “one eye” spoon is if that will help.

I’m familiar with the one eyes. These have rattles in them and have a different shape than those. I plan on making quite a few one eyes this winter for sure.

Just epoxy a clear rattle chamber to the back of the one-eyes after you finish painting them. You can pick them up at Cabelas.

I’m actually going to try pouring a few of those rattle chambers into some one eyes, see if it works.

As for the spoon itself, they are a different shape and fall differently than the one eyes. The Rattle Snakies have treated me well as of late.

Good luck on the pour. Hope it works for you. Nothing beats finding a way to make things work.

An elderly friend of mine makes several annual trips to Lake of the Woods each winter and has a pet jigging spoon he uses. He can find the spoon but not with the finish he has such good luck with so he buys the spoons when he’s up there for fishing and I do a custom job on them when he returns. He’s always happy and that makes me happy.

Again, good luck on the pour.

    Thanks…it’s worth a try anyways.

Ya, kinda the way I am with this spoon. I only have two of em, so I’m afraid to use them in some areas, but it recently caught me my biggest walleye ever. And caught a few others as well. Just has a different fall that has shown preference at times. So of course, I’d like to find more. Only a matter of time before it’s gone on one of our man made dams and all the rip rap.

Yup, that’s them. I did find that page earlier too, but was hoping to find em somewhere close to me. Looks like I better get in touch with em. When I post my report later this week, you’ll see why!
