Have a 115 4 stroke Mercury and always used Mercury brand oil for oil changes, now the dealer has replaced this with Quicksilver claiming that it has replaced what I previously used. Quicksilver is a Mercury product but I am concerned that it may not be an identical formulated product. What are other Mercury owners using and what are your thoughts. Maybe it is a matter of just being overly cautious.

I’ve used Quick Silver in the last 2 oil changes and haven’t seen any difference not have I had any issues.

Pretty much the same oil, comes from same plant, just a different package and label.

It’s 4-stroke oil. I can’t imagine that it’s going to make much, if any, difference.

My 40 Merc pontoon 4-stroke has been running perfectly for 7 years now on Mobile 1. I change the oil once a year.

Quicksilver oil is repackaged Mercury Oil for other retail sales outlets,a few years ago I called mecury to ask if they were the same oil and was told they couldn’t or wouldn’t say so.but the guy said he would use QS premium plus over the regular Merc oil.

Just bought Quicksilver lower unit grease. Part # was the same except on the letter near the end. Same stuff, different container. The same with the oil.
