Just went to MFF to get gear lube, oil, filters etc. Then went to Nelson Marine to get two fuel filters and four gaskets for the lower unit screws-$53.00!! one filter was $19 and one was $23 (two boats) is that really high? and how often do you guys change the fuel filters, every five years oh so? depending on use of course.
Also, how often do you change the fuel-water seperator filter?
    Thanks!

Nelsons parts do run on the high side compared to the same parts available on the internet. (or most other dealers in the metro) However, they always seem to have the parts needed in stock. So I got to give them for that.

I’m not sure what kind of filters these are or for what outboard, but it just sounds high to me. Are these just the paper fuel filter elements? What brand of outboard?

Yeah, just the paper fuel filters. A 50 and a 115 yamaha. I about fell over! $2.19 for the washers for the lower unit screws. I could’ve bought a spinning reel!

I change the water separator every year. That is in front of and much finer than my inline so I never change that one. Advice from the place I bought it.

Thanks Mike, I wondered about that. Using the cherry wood this weekend!

Yammie filter for my F150 runs about 22 to 24 bucks. There are cheaper filters on the market but until the warranty goes off I use OEM parts, etc. I change the water seperator filter every year.

It should, it’s an inline filter usually in the bilge area on the fuel line between tank and motor.
