My Eagle 320 depthfinder starts giving eroneous depth readings when I am running my T-8 kicker motor. The transducer is mounted on a transom board right next to transducer for depthfinder for my side consel and is on opposite side of transom from kicker motor. Do any of you guys have any ideas how to solve this problem? I had the Eagle 320 installed by the kicker motor to aid me when trolling crankbaits. Do you think problem might be in the wiring to the same battery or do to prop wash? Any input is appreciated as I am heading up to Ontario Thursday morning for some walleye fishing.

Is the graph on the console “on” when you’re getting this interference? If so, the most likely culprit is both units are running on the same frequency and giving one or both sonar units fits as they try to decipher the jumbled sonar pulses.

Turn the console unit of and see if this won’t solve the problem.

Thanks for the reply James. I will give this a try as I normally have both units on. However, both units seem to work fine in conjuction with each other when I am not running the kicker motor also. Thanks again. I am heading up for a week of fishing on Lac Seul in Ontario in the morning so I will try this out.

I know an expert on the 320 who might be able to solve the problem. He hires out for about $400/hour.

My first thought was the same as James had, but when you say they work good until you use the kicker, then I would suspect the prop wash.
Do they go goofy when you start the kicker or just when your moving? Also, how do they act with the large motor moving the boat?
