HB / I Pilot / HDS7 interference question

OK here goes: So I have a HDS7 and a Terrova trolling motor. I hate the foot pedal on the Terrova, so I would like to get an I-pilot and control my motor by remote I really like the idea of I-Pilot Link and I sure could use a update on my old locator up front (not the HDS7). So the big question is will I get interference between the I-Pilot / HB combo if I have my HB up front hooked through the I-Pilot and the HDS7 in the back. I do also plan on running a separate transducer to the back for the HB? Thoughts or suggestions on this scenario?

    Well maybe
If you buy the new Ipilot the factory should already have installed the ferrite choker in it to hel with line noise. If your humminbird has the choker power cabe that is a plus if not buy one and make sure to run power wires directly from the battery no stops in between. It is best to run the depot finder wires away from trolling wires to minimize line noise.

The humminbird SI and Di units are very sensitive and you might not get all the interference out but you can get most of it if not all.

Some days I have none and some I get a little but my terrova is old so that’s my experience with it.

    Humminbird is very helpful also

I would say you will get very little if any at all. We have done this a fair amount of times and have had very little issue.

My guess is that you will see interference. I have an 898 on the transom with a Terrova with I-Pilot link on my 17 foot Lund. Prior having birds, I was running Lowrance and right now have an LCX-27 on the bow using the universal transducer. I see sonar interference (vertical lines) on the Hummingbird when I am running the Lowrance on the bow. I had this problem prior to having the link, and in fact as I recall, running oth an LMS-522 on the box and the LCX-27 on the transom I had the same problem as the units don’t know how to deal with the signals from the other transducer that are bouncing around down there. The problem worsens in deeper water where the reflected sonar signal has more opportunity to hit the other transducer. All that said, I am still leaving it set up that way.
