Deep Cycle Battery Question

    Real dumb question here. I found my 5 or 6 year old Interstate battery low on acid and almost hot to the touch this morning in my boat after charging with the on board charger all night.

    I filled it up with distilled water and it still gets hot and my onboard charger is getting a fault reading.

    Is the battery shot?

    Same ting just happened to me a month ago. Time to replace. But heck, 6 years was a good run!!

    Bad battery, but like others have said, 6 years is a great run for it! I would be happy with that.
