Anyone have an opinion on this motor? Looking at a boat that has one with only 84 hours. Anything would help.
    Thanks, Dream’n

The 115’s seemed pretty solid. I know a lot of the major opti problems were the big blocks, mainly the 200-250’s and a good chunk of those issues were late 90’s through about 2001.

I would check the injectors though, as those have been one of the leading causes of failure/powerhead issues.

Have had a 2005 on the back of the boat since 2005. 284 hrs on it and have only put 1 coil pack on it. No other issues what so ever. Maintenance is key with just about any motor. Take the cowling off and give it a good look! Test drive if at all possible. It should start up in an instant and run smooth.

I had an ’04 115 opti on a 620T. It was a very good motor.
I bought it used and ran it for 5 seasons. Never a problem.
It had about 800 hours on it when I sold it (3 yrs ago) and
as far as I know it’s still running good.
