I just bought a used boat that I am finding has several previously undisclosed problems. Among them is the Pinpoint 3700 that feels like it’s operating at only 12V vs 24V – barely enough to move the boat on fully charged batteries. I have not been able to decipher which wire are coming from the troller and I am wondering if there is a way to check how many volts this motor is operating on. Any other advice is most appreciated! Thanks for your help.

A multi meter would probably be the quickest and easiest… Surly someone you know, or you neighbor has one.

To check if you are getting proper voltage on a Pinpoint 3700, look on the LCD display on the top of the unit, should be 4 bars across the top if you are getting 24 volts. Also check the wiring at the plug, for 24 volt motor twist the 2 orange wires together and connect to the + and twist the 2 white together and connect to the – . Also…on the display if you get an error message of EO4, means inadequate voltage…EO7 indicates excessive voltage.
