Propane grill help

So… I am looking to get a new propane grill. After 3 years of a cheap grill, which has gone to crap, from rust and the elements, I am looking to spend 2-400$ on a new one. I want iron grates, not coated, which can’t have abrasive cleaning, because it will rust when the coating scrapes off, which gets worn out faster. (I have been looking at reviews and things to look for in buying a new grill, but I want a little first hand help.) Thanks guys!

Weber. There is no other choice if you want one that will last.

I made the same mistake. Bought cheap and spent even more to kep it working.

Finally got a webber 4 years ago and haven’t even changed bateries in the ignitor with over 30 tanks of propane through it.

I’ve had the same Ducane for 10 years. Still in good shape, and could easily last 10 more.

Ditto on the Weber. Bought a Silver Genesis B for $450 in 2000. Still going strong. Ignitor died, but I just light with a butane starter now. Replaced the flavorizer bars and upgraded to a cast iron grate and love it. Needs a good cleaning, but still works great.

Did the same with a Weber Genesis Silver…about 6 years old in great shape…$100 at a garage sale…similar replacement about 700-800. Just used it tonight!

I have a Weber hooked up on natural gas. 15 years old and never had to replace an igniter or a burner. Only thing I’ve replaced are grates and flavorizer bars. When you replace the bars or grates get the stainless replacements. Best grill I have ever owned.

Weber X6. You pay for what you get.

Just replaced the Weber I had for about 16 years with another Weber…

My neighbor is still using my old one.

Had a few cheaper grills. Bought the Weber in ’99 and it still works like new.
Replaced the Ignitor a few years ago but I guess that was more like maintenance.

If you do not have to cook for large groups regularly, I would suggest the Weber Q series.

13 years on my Weber Genesis. I need to replace the the burners, but that has been it.

I remember my friends making fun of me for spending what they thought was too much money at the time. They are now on to their second and third less expensive grills.

We’ve had a weber genesis for ~3 years now, use it on average 2-3 times a week year round and after a good cleaning it still looks darn near brand new still.
