I’ve used Lances Prop Shop in Forest Lake. Great work and it supports a small business.

Prop MD in Eden Prairie has been good for me. Very competitive and can usually turn them around quickly.

I have filed mine down every spring and have yet to have it rebuilt.
Now after 14 years I too am thinking about having a “New Doo”.

If it is just a rolled edge like that you can file it back round as long as you do not take off any metal other than the rolled/flattened edge. If it is dings or gouges, you cannot file them out without changing the performance of the prop.. however slight it may be.

And so,,, what is your suggestion?

Repair it or let it go.

Carefully file the rounded over edges with a medium file being sure to not touch any of the pitch. Just take the rounded edge back to a straight edge. Don’t make it a 2 minute job, take your time. If you don’t think you can do it, the last time I asked it was $120 to send in a SS for repair/reconditioning at the local shop… money worth spent if you consider what the cost is for a new one if you screw it up.

    Way more than done.
Just file the burr on the face of the blade. Barely file the edge of the blade.

So did I ruin it ?
Maybe I should just send it in…..

I’d just leave it… I wouldnt take anything else off nor try to repair anything. Get a few more years (or rocks) out of it and then send it in for repair.
