I had the new boat out yesterday for the first time. I let the motor warm up and putted through a no wake zone. Once out of the no wake I opened it up a little, following the guidelines in the owners guide. At this point I lost all power to the motor, including the power steering assist and the motor killed. The motor would not even turn over after this and also the trim and tilt was non functional. I ended up limping back to the landing with the tolling motor.

Has anyone had this problem before? I checked the fuses and they all looked ok…. I plan on calling the dealer in the morning.

Me and Gee think it might be your kill switch or the break in limiter failed.Sounds like a power issue.
Best of luck figuring it out.

I had a brand new 250 Yamaha on a new 620 do something simular.
My 1st maiden voyage after going trough a full day on St. Croix river breaking in properly was up to Mille lacs.
I got to my 1st destination, about 10 miles out from Hunters point when I lost all power to main motor.
I also lost tilt and trim. I was on phone with dealership a few times. They didn’t know what to say other than we’ll make this right. After evaluating my situation, it was apparent I would have to limp in (10+ miles in some wind) back with 9.9 kicker. Dealer told me to call them when I got close to landing and if still no luck, they would send help being as I had no idea how to get onto trailer with main motor down.
All the sudden, I got power, at least long enough to raise motor, then it was gone again.
At least I could put on trailer. Took back to deal.
They checked everything. Nothing, put different brass nylon locking nuts on all battery connections and I left.
Next trip to St. Croix… whala, exact same thing.
This time they had a guy waiting at Hudson ramp to bring my boat back.
    They and I were stunnded.
It ended up being a loose conection inside couling at main motor power. They had checked every damn thing but that 1st time around.
It has worked flawlessly since… and they gave me a $250.00 gift card for my troubles.
Sorry, long story, but may want to check that.
    Good luck.

What he said. Look to see if main ground wire in motor is tight. If it is loose. you will have intermittent issues.
