Batteries

    Any good input in what to look for as far as cranking amps and amp hours? Any brand better than others and are the expensive gel batteries worth the $$? I am needing a new cranking battery and figure I just as well should get a trolling battery. Thanks

    What motor? Is this just a starting battery or are you running electronics, lights, livewell, bilge, etc off of it also?

    The starting battery has HDS with structure scan and all pumps and lights on it. And the trolling motor is a terrova ipilot 12volt.

    Well depending on what your motor needs for CCA (its in most manuals), I would look for a dual purpose 600+ CCA group 27.

    For a trolling motor battery, I would suggest a group 31 deep cycle if you can fit it in your case. If not, then get a 29.
