While trying to maneuver out of a tight space, I broke the skeg off of by T-8. I have the part that broke off. Do I take it to a Marine Dealership or just a welder? What should I be looking for in a quality job?

    Thanks,

Check out BC Propeller in Sauk Rapids, MN. They do an excellent job of prop and skeg repair. They have a paint guy that can match any paint and make it look like it came from the factory. They will turn it around at back to you in short order.

Ask your boat dealer and they’ll refer you to a local welder that does their skeg repairs for them. You DON’T want to take it to just any welder, and you do want to take the lower unit off the motor to have it done.

The guy at three lakes prop repair does it. He’s located near New Richmond. He fixed my prop and did a great job. Let me know and I can dig up his number.

Todd’s is the place to go . Why would some of you guys recommend a place that’s 150 miles away to get a skeg fixed?

When I originally saw the post i was going to comment and realized where he was located. Its easy to forget to look where one is located before posting. We are all just eager to help each other out I guess!
