I continue to have problems where the power meter on my MinnKota trolling motor. It has always read 100% for the longest time. Last year it started going to 75% rather quickly so I replaced the 2 trolling motor batteries since they were 6 years old. Well I continue to get low reading on the meter after a short time. I took the batteries in and they tested full power. I cleaned every connection from the batteries to the motor. I also replaced the plug where the trolling power is attached. Last night when the meter started to hit 50% I was able to make it read 75% after wiggling the plug which leads me to believe the plug may be the culprit. I don’t know the name but it is the most common plug type you find in the marine section. The 12v to 24v takes place in the plug. Does anyone know of a better plug to purchase or any other ideas on my problem?

    Thanks.

I assume you have the black Marinco 12/24 plug. There is nothing else that will fit in the socket. They are a mated set.

Try working on the socket and behind it. Could have a build up of corrosion in the socket or bent contacts inside
