I am looking for input on a boat I am considering for purchase. It is a 2000 Starcraft Super Fisherman. 19 1/2′, with a 150 merc, 8 hp kicker, and tons of other goodies. The asking price is $15000. Seems like a really good price for a “like new” boat. I believe this boat new would be in the $35000 range. I know very little about Starcraft boats and am wondering if anyone here could tell me what type reputation for quality and durability they have. Any comments or ideas?

Well, Starcraft has been around for ages. It doesn’t seem to get the attention that the Crestliners, Lunds, etc. do now – most likely advertising. I sure as heck wouldn’t turn my nose at one. I fished out of several of them as a youth – and they were rock solid and 20+ years old at the time. In all likelyhood you are going to get good ‘bang for your buck’ out of one. What does that boat rate to?

Rooster, I owned a Starcraft 16 foot Super Sport back in the 70’s. It was a darn good boat and I know the guy who bought it from me and he is still running that boat! I would not be afraid to look at Star Craft again. Good luck as it sounds like one heck of deal to me

Thanks guys, I go to look at it Wed. If it is in as good of shape as the owner says, I believe there will be a new owner!
