Hey guys my rpm gauge has been reading that i have been over reving when i am only going 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, No it is not over reving either, it just reads it is. Is it a bad tach by chance or is there something else I should be looking at. I just got the boat this last August. It worked fine the first couple times I took it out and now it started doing this. Thanks in advance..

Thes gauges are not totally water proof what might help is there should be a screw on the back that sets the number of cylinder etc. Notice where it is set and take that screw and turn it back and forth a few times, sometimes corrosion gets in the connections. If that does not help a new tach may be in order.

On the back of the tach there should be an adjuster for different outboard outputs (poles). Google tach settings for your engine
