Last spring I purchased a new Lund Impact, which I love. However, it has the narrow sport trac gunnels, which I don’t like. I’m trying to get the boat rigged up a but better for salmon fishing.

Here’s my dilemma…Traxstech, Berts, and Cisco(just found this company..check them out) all make a track system for the boat. I’m debating between a vertical 3 rod tree

    horizontal rod tree..

or a traditional staggered rod holders along the gunnel. I’ll mount my riggers on a smaller track in the stern area.
I like the vertical tree because it frees up more working room, but I’m worried about running dipsys that much above the water. Any thoughts//input?

I really like the Traxtech vertical tree.

I built my own board which works very good! I added tite-lok adjustable rod holders ahead of the counsel on each side for dipsy, works great!

Dipsys really dig hard and that might be an issue if the rod is high or at the top of in a vertical tree. I think if a dipsy rod is run closer the point of connection to the boat things are stronger and that drag doesn’t create problems.

I agree, Tite-Loks worked very well as they mount to the gunwail of the boat.
