I got to hammer on my Smooth Moves this past weekend and my gal and I could only just laugh at the amount of fun we had. It was almost like the whole boat would just drop out from under you. They really handle rough water well. My gal was happy that I bought one for her. Smooth Moves are a great investment. Contact Brett King and get a pair.

Since Hook and I put the Smooth Moves Seat Mount in the boat. I have had a better ride sitting up front in the 20 foot tiller boat! Hooks big tiller runs real well on top of the big waves out on Mille Lacs. During tournaments when time is a big factor, you tend to run a little harder than on a normal fishing day. The mount takes all the pounding out of the ride.

But isn’t having that type of seat in your boat masking what your are actually doing to the structure of your boat ?

You use the same seat that you have in your boat now. The Smooth Moves just replaces your current pedestal.

You have to modify the pedestal to lower the seat height since the Smooth Moves is higher to allow for compression. There is a floor mount you can replace the factory floor mount with that totally replaces the need to modify your pedestal. The spider is the part that attaches the pedestal to the seat. Smooth Moves is not a seat but a shock absorbing spring mount like farm tractors use between the seat and the pedestal.

In high horsepower boats the need for additonal comfort and passenger safety is necessary to get the full performance of your boat in rough conditions. The occasional ball jarring, kidney rupturing or literally back breaking waves can ruin a trip or a summer. Smooth Moves take the sting out of potential injury.

If you have ever been in 30 MPH winds with a 20 mile run to complete in 30 minutes you’ll apreciate on. If you have a boat under 100 HP you don’t need one. Boats under 17 feet probably cannot handle the additional weight either.

Tournament fisherman and those of use who fish everyday for a living in all kinds of conditions appreciate the ride in their Smooth Moves or eqivilant at the end of the day.

Good boats can take the pounding. Idiots driving them sometimes can push a boat beyond the structural limitations and pop rivites, bend hulls and break off kickers.

Time for me to preach…IMO You get in quality what you pay for in a boat. Enough said on that.

Hes trying to say that if you buy Nates 2004 Lund 1800 Pro V with Smooth Move Seat Mounts and IPS hull you will get a much smoooooother ride and not lose your kicker motor. In fact the kicker motor even has power trim and tilt.
    Thanks, Bill

Actually you can get a false sense of security with the smooth moves. You can get going too comfortable and out run the conditions and break stuff.

Get a Smooth Moves for the additional comfort and not to go faster.

And Gator Hunter…I’ll remain silent on that one

Kevin, (and anybody else who may run Warrior,)
I know that you run a Warrior, but, if my memory serves me correct, you have the counsel model. I would be interested in this type of seat, for me at least, but would it work on a 2090 Warrior with a 150 hp tiller? Knowing that the seat works on a sissor-type action, I don’t want to be so far forward from the back splash rail that I can’t grab the motor comfortably. Also don’t want to be to far away from the Vantage troller on the left. Do you think that the “Smooth Moves” would still work?

Try to picture your seat gaining 4-5 inches on the back side. You can also get a base with the SM and you can mount that base anywhere, its a flat bottom base.

The seat can also slide forward or backwards some too. There is a lever sticking out for that purpose.
    Thanks, Bill

Thanks, fella’s. I think that I may have to look into purchasing a couple. (Tough luck for the third guy! Ha!)
