Has anyone ever had a trolling plate cause the engine to overheat? I was in a 5mph no wake zone and the alarm went off. I backed of the throttle for a while and had no problems the rest of the day. The tech that was winterizing my boat said it showed that it had overheated. The trolling plate i have is a spring loaded, it is one that is always down and lifts partway up depending on how much throttle you are using. The tech thought that the plate could cause a swirl that prevented water from being taken up by the engine.
Any thoughts?
