Made a video of my 150 VMAX being tilted up for travel. As you can hear and see, it’s somewhat slow and hesitant. I’m thinking that I may have air in the system, but thought I would ask if anyone here might have a better idea. I plan on trying to bleed air from the system as the manual describes come spring, but wanted to know what you all thought as well. Thanks–

Sounds like it’s just low on fluid. I just replaced the little unit (not sure what the proper name is) on my 50 hp. Motor would go up but not down. Other motors, you can replace either but Yamaha has you replacing the entire thing for around $150 or so.

It sounds like air in the system and that means your low on fluid! You should pull the cap off of the reservoir when tilted all the way up and make sure it’s full to the bottom of the hole on the reservoir. Then run it up and down a couple times and recheck. Also look for milky fluid, if its milky there is water in your system and you will need to get that out and reseated, before more damage is done.

I appreciate that, I’ll sure take a look at that cylinder, maybe tomorrow. I thought the last time I looked it was full, but that may not be the case. Thanks again for the info–
